There are numerous secret bars in central Sydney. The wonderful Barber Shop Bar in York Street has elements of a hidden Chicago speakeasy and a Victorian gin palace.😍

To enter, patrons walk though a working barber shop, then sneak up the stairs to the bar.

89 YORK STREET

Hard to believe there are around 700 Gins on offer here. (Beer and other drinks are available as well, but honestly why would you? )😎

The bar is just down the street from a little hotel my partner Rob and I stay at in Sydney; The Megaboom. So convenient if I over-indulge in ‘mother’s ruin’. 😎 🍹

X marks the spot for our first choices. Even with lots of ice the flavour is there to the last drop. That’s the mark of a good, long cocktail.

PAPA GEDES – SECRET BARS MARK II

Down a hidden cobbled lane at 348 Kent Street is the entry to Papa Gedes Bar. There are hints of voodoo and the world of zombies in this unique venue.

WHO…ME? I’M INNOCENT!

Both of these secret bars are great. They get pretty busy though, so go early if want a seat.
