CASUAL DINING OUT IN THE BIG SMOKE!
This Italian eatery is located in King Street. It was so good that on a recent visit to Sydney my partner Rob and I dined there two nights running. The style is described as Euro-chic. It’s decorated with pots of fresh basil and rosemary. You could pick a few leaves and add them to a dish if you had a mind to.
On the second occasion we were accidentally there for ‘happy hour’, when a glass of house wine is $5 and a chosen weekly cocktail is on offer for $10. How could I resist when it happened to be my favourite; a salty, limey Margarita. You can order a whole jug for $30. I’ll keep that in mind.
We ordered the antipasti board to begin with;
My word, that Margarita disappeared before I knew it. Rob suggested I try a different concoction. What about a Lemon Meringue Pie? This was a heavenly if dangerous concoction of vanilla vodka and butterscotch Snapps, with fresh lemon and Grand Marnier.
I might try one of these next time, or even all three;
The $22 truffle oil pizza is heavenly, with mushrooms, smokey Australian ham, shaved parmesan, mozzarella and rocket. We added black olives.
I loved Vapiano, although one more Lemon Meringue Pie and I may have renamed it Vaporiser! I was hardly dressed for the cocktail hour, but was beginning to imagine myself perfoming a little dance of joy in a rather fetching birthday suit.
As far as food went, I was really only interested in the thin based pizzas, but they do have a full range of lasagne and pasta dishes etc.
UPDATE – March 2021
Lychee Martini on a wet, Sydney Sunday evening.

And risotto with big, plump prawns. Oh yes, just the ticket!
